Continual Self Help

Wisdom. It leads to a better life. There are so many ways to grow it and develop it. The more you have of it the better your life and the lives of the people around you go. So how to develop more wisdom? What words of wisdom can help you to add wisdom to your life?

Wisdom occurs from integrating insights with our choices in life. It doesn’t really come from just gaining more information or knowledge. Information without action can actually make us less happy. So to gain wisdom we can do something specific and powerful: add insights and understanding that impacts our choices in life. The better choices we make, the happier we will be.

There are innumerable insights that can add to the quality of your life if you were to act on them. Taking one insight a week and trying it on can in a short time change your life for better. A few insights that you turn into action can go a long way.

Here then is one insight that can make a ton of difference in the rest of your life. And that is the wisdom of practicing Continual Learning. Just because you graduated from school doesn’t mean you are finished. Life itself is a school and we can always learn and grow from what is happening in our lives.

So if you want to add wisdom to your life on regular basis, if you want to keep making better choices in life, practice continual learning. It is simple and easy to do.

You can read one book a week or month on a topic of interest to you. You can get audio books and listen and learn while driving your car. You can take a course at the local adult education center. You can watch education shows on the discovery channel or even Oprah or Dr Phil on any topics that interest you. You can join a talk group or support group at a local church.

We are surrounded by potential insights. The key is to make continual learning a habit. An ongoing practice. You just need to take regular action to expose yourself to new learning and understanding. Prime your pump, so to speak.

The fun thing is, you let your heart guide you. You follow your own bliss. If you want to paint a picture, take an art class. If you think you need to work on relationships, you get a book on that. Exposing yourself to new ideas each week or month will add to your wisdom and take you to places that are more rewarding in life. How fun is that?
